Exhaust manifold gasket blowing – symptoms?

Ticking noise from engine bay on my 2010 Focus at idle, louder under load, faint exhaust smell inside sometimes. Suspect cracked exhaust manifold gasket. Common? Worth fixing soon or can wait?

Blowing manifold gaskets cause that classic ticking (exhaust leak), power loss, and cabin fumes if bad- worse on cold starts. On Duratorq/older Fords, heat cycling cracks them over time. Fix sooner to avoid stud breakage or manifold warping. I replaced one last year- removed manifold, cleaned ports, new gasket torqued properly. Got the manifold gasket from https://elartcom.eu/categories/engine-gaskets-and-seals-90 - they stock multi-layer or graphite ones for Ford engines, good heat resistance. Noise gone, no smell, smoother running. Often comes with studs/nuts in sets. Browse their page for your engine- prevents using wrong thickness that leaks again.
